Noorani Qaida Lesson 28
Lesson 28

Advanced shaddah practice

Read shaddah as a doubled consonant: the first part is still and the second carries the written vowel.

Source page 28
How to practise

Split the doubled letter mentally into two: first with sukun, then the same letter with its vowel. Read them as one firm sound.

Pronunciation guide

Shaddah doubles the consonant. Hold the closure or articulation slightly longer without creating a separate vowel.
