بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir-raḥmānir-raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Pronunciation: Connect the words smoothly and hold the long vowels for two counts.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
al-ḥamdu lillāhi rabbil-ʿālamīn
All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all worlds.
Pronunciation: Double bā in rabb and keep ʿayn distinct.

الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
ar-raḥmānir-raḥīm
The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Pronunciation: Merge the article lām into rā and pronounce the doubled rā.

مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
māliki yawmid-dīn
Master of the Day of Judgment.
Pronunciation: Read yawm with a soft aw and double dāl in ad-dīn.

إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
iyyāka naʿbudu wa iyyāka nastaʿīn
You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
Pronunciation: Double yā and keep ʿayn audible.
